Having played together before Suarez went to Barcelona in 2014 the pair have remained friends. Suarez was the key to helping Coutinho to initially integrate at Liverpool. The years they played together saw the Uruguayan take Coutinho under his wing and treat him as if he was his little brother.
Neymar and Coutinho are also good friends. The Brazilians played together at youth level for Brazil before making the step up to the first team.
Despite being happy at Anfield the midfielder is now at an age where he would be looking to take the next step. At 25 he is reaching the peak years of his career. With his greatest number of goals in a Premier League Season coming this year,10, he has shown the necessary quality to become a star at Barcelona.
He is seen as one of the potential successors to Andres Iniesta, who at 33 is unable to play the number of games that he once was.
The huge sum for Premier League talent could be the stumbling block in the negotiations. However, If Liverpool do sell him they could be set to make over £65m in profit from his sale after signing him from Inter Milan for £8.5m in 2013, which would make Neymar and Suarez extremely happy.
