Barcelona defeated Las Palmas side in Sunday night's La Liga clash, to keep up the pressure on Real Madrid.
MSN were once again to thank for the Catalan side's victory, with Neymar grabbing three in a win that ensures that the Spanish title race will be decided on the final of the season.
Barcelona dominated the opening stages of the game, and Lionel Messi came close in the fifth minute. Surprisingly he jumped highest to meet a Barca corner, which he headed just wide. Soon after, the first half's controversial moment occurred. Former Real Madrid man Jese found himself clear of the Barcelona defence, and closing in on Marc-Andre Ter Stegen's net.
The 24-year-old was hacked down by Lucas Digne, who was undoubtedly the last man and should have been sent off. Controversially, Digne only saw yellow despite the complaints from the home side.
Although the Catalan's enjoyed much of the possession in the first period, it took until the 25th minute to open the scoring.
Andres Iniesta threaded an inch perfect ball to Luis Suarez, who managed to get in behind the Las Palmas back line. The Uruguayan selflessly squared it to Neymar, who coolly dispatched the chance.
And only two minutes later they had doubled their lead. Just inside the opposition half, Neymar managed to beat the entire home defence with one ball, and they could only watch helplessly, as Suarez once again bared down on goal.
The former Liverpool man easily chipped Javi Varas in the Las Palmas goal, to make the game 2-0.
That proved to be last noteworthy chance of the half, as the side from the Canary Island's allowed Barcelona to dominate possession, something that Luis Enrique's side seemed more than happy with.
Las Palmas started the second half on the front foot and created a number of half chances, without seriously threatening Ter Stegen's goal.
However, it was the reigning Spanish champions who came closest early on in the second period. Jordi Alba threaded a ball into Messi, and the Argentinian's shot was deflected over for a corner.
Yet, it proved to be a rare chance for Barca in the opening 20 minutes of the second period. After a number of chances the side from the Canary Islands finally pegged Barca back.
Centre-back Pedro Lemos started a counter attack for the home side, which he himself finished off. Kevin-Prince Boateng's cross found the number 17, whose shot left Ter Stegen helpless in the away goal.
However, the one goal lead didn't last long, as Neymar doubled his tally for the day, five minutes later. The Brazilian's header at the back post nestled in the Las Palmas goal, despite an offside Suarez attempting to get the final touch. Unsurprisingly the home side disagreed with the officials ruling in this instance.
But they had no complaints soon after, as Neymar completed his hat trick with 19 minutes remaining.
Jordi Alba slipped the 25-year-old through inside the opposition's box, and despite the narrow angle, managed to place the ball underneath Varas' outstretched glove. One the goalkeeper won't want to see again.
Barca continued to press in vain for a fifth goal, and failed to create another serious chance in the game. The referee's final whistle was a welcome relief to both sides, who played out a lacklustre last 15 minutes.
